Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Beginning in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. All Pella® products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What does this mean for you? Not only might your notice a drop to your heating and cooling bill, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are all specifically designed and custom-made for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide variety of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first considering your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To expedite the process, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the project and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large range of high-grade products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Fall River area home while you do it.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The advantage of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you don’t need to. You can choose the color your want. We do not suggest painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint companies claim that their paint can stick to vinyl, but it could wreck your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning solution or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could form streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses reliable installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. We require them to complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We seek out the best Fall River-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Pella provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Using a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that your project will have the strength of our whole team. We like to use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Fall River homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. Every one of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with care and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated window and entry door stores across the United States and Canada. This unique way of operating our business gives Pella clients in Fall River a warm, personal experience with the help of a local to Fall River, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
